Videos w/out a projector?

Naomi? mentioned that a teacher in her district was able to burn united streaming videos to a DVD so you can show them on your regular DVD player. I would like to know how to do this to get around the potential problem of showing videos from united streaming and not having a projector/Smartboard available at all times.
